Often referred to as the sunniest place in Great Britain and nestled at the foot of the South Downs, Eastbourne has been attracting holiday makers since Victorian times.  With its colourful promenades, sandy beaches, quaint shopping streets, it’s not hard to see why.

We visit the City of Chichester for the first stop of our tour. Blending old and new Chichester offers an enticing mix of designer boutiques and charming architecture including the stunning 900 year old Cathedral. We then continue east to the Hadleigh Hotel in Eastborne, our bas for 4 nights.

We visit Wakehurst Place, a 16th century country estate now managed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Wakehurst is part of an international conservation project which in 2010 reached the milestone of having conserved seeds from ten percent of the world's plant species. You'll be able to explore for yourself the charming natural woodland, lakes and formal gardens. Then, it is onto Lewes - a market town of small, specialist, independant retailers, and on certain days, the subtle aromas wafting from Harvey's Brewery will attract any visitor to Cliffe High Street. Bookshops, boutiques and antique centres sit alongside individual craft workshops, and the restaurants, cafes, and pubs offer delicious choices all year round with real emphasis on local produce. Its medieval streets, old English churches and tiny twitterns (a sussex word for alleyway) allow visitors a glimpse into the true essence of bygone Lewes.

Part of the reason for coming to Eastbourne has to be to enjoy being beside the seaside. Today is a day to do just that as we enjoy a full day of leisure in our host resort. Enjoy a gentle stroll along the flat promenade; enjoy the famous carpet gardens harbour and 1930's bandstand.

We travel aloing the south coast to Hastings, a pleasant town with plenty to see and do including The Blue Reef Aquarium, St Mary in the Castle or the Old Town Ghost Walk. Then, it is onto Bodiam Castle, one of Britain's most picturesque and evocative castles. Virtually complete exterior with walls rising dramatically above the moat. Enough of the ruined interior survives to give an impression of medieval castle life. Intriguing, sometimes grizzley tales can often be heard from one of our colourful characters. There are stunning views of the Rother Valley which can be enjoyed from the top of the towers.

Time to start our journey home, though there is still time for us to visit the nearby vibrant and colourful regency resort of Brighton. Here you will have the chance to experience the heritiage of the Royal Pavilion, take a walk along the prom, a visit to the quirky antiques shops and boutiques of 'The Lanes' or take a ride on Volks Railway, Britain's oldest electric railway. We then make our early afternoon departure for home.

About Our Tours

We have been operating tours and mini breaks around the U.K. and abroad for a number of years, and by far the most popular innovation that we have introduced in recent years, is to offer a virtually door to door service. Picking up as near as practically possible to your home in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire means you don’t have to worry about getting your luggage to the coach, and avoids the additional cost of having to use taxis.

By using our small fleet of mini-buses, we are able to keep the pick-up time to a minimum and get you on your tour coach and on your way as soon as possible. This way your holiday starts on the first morning. Once your holiday is over we will collect you again from the coach park and return you home.
