The Leeds Castle Festival of Flowers is designed around a theme each year. Not to be missed!

The Leeds Castle Festival of Flowers is designed around a theme each year. The Castle is described as ‘one of the loveliest in the World’ with 900 years of history and 500 acres of gardens to enjoy.  See the Castle rooms decorated by an impressive line-up of international award-winning floral designers and discover a programme of floral demonstrations, specialist talks and daily garden tours. There will also be the opportunity to buy beautiful flowers and garden accessories from a variety of stalls on the Pavilion Lawn. There will a day at leisure in Maidstone, a visit to Hever Castle and Teapot Island, home of the world's largest collection of teapots and over 2000 for sale, certainly something different!

Saturday - Day 1

We collect you from home ready for the journey to Kent. Making our way across the country. We make our lunchtime stop at Sherfield on Loddon Garden Centre and Café near Basingstoke. Sherfield on the Loddon is situated in a rural setting up a country lane just north of Basingstoke. The area is famous for the lovely sinewy River Loddon which rises out of Basingstoke flowing northwards to the Thames. Along with the café, the lovely selection of plants and the centre’s setting, we hope to bring you a leisurely way to get your holiday started. After lunch will travel on to the Hilton Hotel Maidstone.

Sunday - Day 2

Today's excursion is to Leeds Castle and its Festival of Flowers. Visitors from all over the world return again and again to “the loveliest Castle in the world”. Although not a competition per se, the Festival of Flowers is renowned for creativity with its variety of unique displays and designs; some encompassing full floral arches and extravagant table arrangements, others exhibiting cascading floral displays and floor-to-ceiling installations. Each floral designer is designated a different room or area to decorate, following a specific theme.

Monday - Day 3

Today we spend at leisure in our home resort of Maidstone. The coach will be available to take you into Maidstone centre with a return later in the day. Maidstone is a town in Kent, England, of which it is the county town. Maidstone is historically important and lies 32 miles (51 km) east-south-east of London. The River Medway runs through the centre of the town, linking it with Rochester and the Thames Estuary. Historically, the river carried much of the town's trade as the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, known as the Garden of England. There is evidence of settlement in the area dating back before the Stone Age

Tuesday - Day 4

Two visits today, beginning with Hever Castle and then onto Teapot Island for a visit and a cream tea. Hever Castle is located in the village of Hever, Kent, near Edenbridge, 30 miles south-east of London, England. It began as a country house, built in the 13th century. From 1462 to 1539, it was the seat of the Boleyn family. Teapot Island is a family run business that was established in Yalding in April 2003, housing the biggest collection of Teapots in England! With over 7600 teapots on display and 2000 for sale!

Wednesday - Day 5

Time to make our way back west to Somerset. After breakfast , we load the coach and prepare to leave Kent. On our way home, we stop off in the delightful village of Hartley Wintney near Hook. Hartley Wintney features a wide main street with the village green and duck pond at the southern end. Its cricket green is home to the oldest cricket club in Hampshire and is next to another picturesque duck pond. Oak trees were planted on the common in response to a call following the Battle of Trafalgar for more timber to build naval ships. After lunch, we return to the coach and continue the journey home.
