Making our way to Fishguard in West Wales, we catch the afternoon sailing to Rosslare. We then travel onto the Riverside Park Hotel and Leisure Club, Enniscorthy, where we stay for 4 nights.  From our base in County Wexford, this tour highlights the rich history and heritage of this lovely corner of Ireland. From the lush soft hills of the Wicklow Mountains to medieval Waterford and creative Kilkenny, this tour includes it all.  Excursion on this holiday include: a Walking Tour of Waterford and factory tour at Waterford Crystal, a visit to Kilkenny including the Kilkenny Craft Centre.

Monday - Day 1

Following your home pick up, we begin our journey to the Emerald Isle via Wales. Making our way to Fishguard to catch the early afternoon sailing to Rosslare. We'll make a comfort break at Magor services on the Welsh side of the bridge before travelling on to catch the ferry. Arriving in Rosslare late afternoon, then it's a short drive to our hotel.

Tuesday - Day 2

A full day in Waterford. Founded by Viking traders in 914, the city has an exciting medieval flavour and riverside bustle. Meet your guide for the Viking Triangle Experience, a walking tour and explore the history of the city from the Vikings to the Victorians. Free time at leisure is then followed by a visit to the House of Waterford Crystal for a factory tour. Experience the various stages of the glass making process from the moulding to glass blowing and finally sculpting and engraving.

Wednesday - Day 3

Today we will be travelling to Avoca, brought to fame by the TV series Ballykissangel, and home to the Avoca Handweavers mill and visitors centre. This location is the birthplace of the Avoca experience, and the origin of the family’s company name. Dating from 1723, this very special Avoca location is home to the handweaving mill, Avoca Store, Cafe and a visitor centre which tells the story of the mill from the beginning. There are even third generation weavers to show you what goes into the making of an Avoca throw. After the visitor centre we will continue through the scenic Wicklow Mountains National Park to Glendalough, an area renowned for its natural beauty and for being the location of an early Christian monastic settlement. It has many attractions to entice, entertain and enthral visitors, from its world famous Monastic Site with Round Tower to its scenic lakes and valleys.

Thursday - Day 4

A full day today with an excursion to medieval Kilkenny, known as the creative heart of Ireland and home to numerous specialist crafts-people. Visit some of the studios and shops in Kilkenny Design Craft Centre and see the famous Kilkenny Castle, restored in 1830s splendour. This afternoon, step back in time at the Irish National Heritage Park, located on the banks of River Slaney. Visitors will be guided through this fantastic large outdoor museum, where actors will bring the history of Ireland to life.

Friday - Day 5

Sadly today, after an early breakfast, we leave Ireland and return home to Somerset. An early start today as we catch the early morning ferry from Rosslare back to Fishguard. Arriving mid morning we follow the Pembrokeshire coast towards Carmarthen where we make our lunch stop. Carmarthen, which means "Merlin's fort" or "Sea-town fort", is a community and the county town of Carmarthenshire in Wales. It lies on the River Tywi in Carmarthen Bay. Carmarthen has a claim to be the oldest town in Wales – Old Carmarthen and New Carmarthen became one borough in 1546. After lunch we continue our journey home, making a further comfort stop if required.

Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy is a modern 4 Star hotel located on the edge of town, picturesquely located along the banks of the River Slaney and on the edge of the bustling market town of Enniscorthy. The airy reception area leads through to a lounge with a terrace. The hotel has a newly renovated bar overlooking the river and restaurant which is very popular with the locals. The hotel has 100 good sized guest bedrooms, it also has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym.  The Riverside Park offers comfortable accommodation, attractive public areas and good hospitality.
