Our first Tour after lockdown. Welsh Borders, Steam & Cruise. Join us to where Shropshire meets Wales to stay in Shrewsbury. Your holiday begins in the border town of Hereford. Day 2 Sees us sent to Prison as we enjoy a guided tour of Shrewsbury Prison . On our release we enjoy a relaxing cruise along the River Severn. The next day we visit Shrewsbury Castle and Regimental Museum before spending the afternoon at leisure in our host town of Shrewsbury. Thursday allows us take in the views with the Severn Valley Railway and then onto the magnificent Black Country Museum. Our return journey takes us home via Jinney Ring Craft Centre.

Monday - Day 1

Following your home pick up, you will meet up with your fellow passengers and we will head up the motorways to the Lion Hotel. The first stop on our tour is in Hereford. Strolling along the banks of the River Wye, enjoying the vibrant centre of High Town, immersing yourself in our local history and historic architecture. With independent outlets sitting alongside well-known high street names, there is shopping for all in the traffic-free city centre. Or you may prefer to visit our historic black and white house museum, Cathedral and Mappa Mundi. We'll have lunch here before returning to the coach will then take us on the short journey to the Lion Hotel, Shrewsbury for a 4 night stay.

Tuesday - Day 2

This morning we find ourselves sent to Prison, Shrewsbury Prison for a guided tour. Upon our release, we join the Sabrina for a river cruise that sails from the historic Victoria Quays. Whilst enjoying a gentle sail around the river Severn loop and up to the English bridge, make sure you take advantage of the photo opportunities, capturing the beautiful views of Shrewsbury’s riverside. As we head back in, our captain will entertain you with stories of the town, past and present.

Wednesday - Day 3

Departing the hotel afterbreakfast, our first visit is to the historic Shrewsbury Castle and home to the Shropshire Regimental Museum. After lunch we spend the afternoon at leisure enjoying the delights that Shrewsbury has to offer, before re-joining the coach for our return to the hotel.

Thursday - Day 4

Two excursions today, first we make our way to Bridgnorth, to embark on the Severn Valley Railway for a picturesque journey to Kidderminster. The coach will meet us in Kidderminster and we make the short journey to the Black Country Living Museum. Here you'll see history brought to life before your eyes. You can explore over forty carefully reconstructed shops, houses and industrial areas that represent the Black Country's story. You'll learn how steam power, human ingenuity and an increasingly interconnected world transformed this region into a manufacturing powerhouse. You'll meet our historic characters who'll tell you stories of what it was really like to live and work during this revolutionary period of history.

Friday - Day 5

Sadly, the time has come for our holiday to end, but not before one more visit. We visit Jinney Ring Craft Centre. Here we find beautiful 200 year old barns converted into 12 craft studio workshops, plant shop, daytime farmhouse restaurant, craft gallery and gift shop. Superb landscape gardens with stunning views of the Malverns.
