Mistletoe & Wine in Morecambe

From the panoramic golden sands to the Lakeland Hills beyond, Morecambe’s charms go on and on.  There is lots to see and do in this historic seaside town.  Jump on an open top bus for a tour, have a coffee or an ice cream in one of the cafés lining the seafront, or visit the Eric Morecambe statue, forever bringing sunshine to the Promenade!  We return to the popular Auckland Hotel in Morecambe and as well as a day in resort also enjoy the lovely scenery of  two stunning National Parks.

MONDAY               Christmas Eve
We travel north via the motorways to the Auckland Hotel in Morecambe, our base for 4 nights.  Upon arrival in there will be a sherry reception in the bar ahead of our evening dinner.  We then sing Christmas Carols before some music guides us through our Christmas Eve evening.

TUESDAY              Christmas Day
After breakfast Santa makes an early call, then it’s off for an optional morning excursion to nearby Lancaster.  Lancaster is a vibrant university city with a wealth of history, beginning life as a Roman Fort in 80AD. Its cobbled streets are lined with smart, stone houses filled with lively shops, bars and restaurants.  We then return to Morecambe for an afternoon at leisure ahead of our traditional Christmas Dinner which will be served in the evening.  After our evening meal we then enjoy a Party full of Dancing and  Entertainment.

WEDNESDAY Boxing Day
We head to one of the oldest and most popular markets in the UK, in the Lancashire town of Bury.  Located in the heart of Bury Town Centre it attracts both locals and visitors from must further afield.  Voted Best Market Attraction in 2015, Bury Market is one of the most popular shopping destinations in the North of England, featuring over 370 stalls selling everything from meat and groceries to clothing and jewellery.  A great day out for shopping enthusiasts where you can buy anything and everything in one location!  In the afternoon we head to Oswaldtwistle Mills in Accrington, an award winning former weaving mill which has over 100 retailers under 1 roof, as well as 5 restaurants, an ice cream parlour, garden centre, mill grounds, craft and sewing centre, textile and heritage museum and even its own wildfowl reserve.

THURSDAY New Year’s Eve
We make our way into the Lake District National Park with an initial stop in the pleasant town of Bowness on Windermere, one of Cumbria’s leading destinations set on the shores of Lake Windermere.  We return back to the hotel ahead of our evening Candle-lit dinner, before entertainment and games will take us through the evening.

FRIDAY
After a leisurely breakfast it’s time to depart and make our way back home making suitable comfort stops en-route.

About Our Tours

We have been operating tours and mini breaks around the U.K. and abroad for a number of years, and by far the most popular innovation that we have introduced in recent years, is to offer a virtually door to door service. Picking up as near as practically possible to your home in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire means you don’t have to worry about getting your luggage to the coach, and avoids the additional cost of having to use taxis.

By using our small fleet of mini-buses, we are able to keep the pick-up time to a minimum and get you on your tour coach and on your way as soon as possible. This way your holiday starts on the first morning. Once your holiday is over we will collect you again from the coach park and return you home.
