After our breakfast at the hotel we head westbound to the ferry terminal at Cairnryan for the late morning sailing to Belfast.  The crossing is scheduled to take 2 hours 15 minutes, and once back on dry land we head to the nearby Titanic Belfast visitor attraction.  Opened in 2012 as a monument to Belfast's maritime heritage on the site of the former Harland and Wolff shipyard in the city's Titanic Quarter where the RMS Titanic was built.  We then continue to the Park Avenue Hotel, to the north east of Belfast City Centre, our base for 4 nights.

Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland and it has become an increasingly popular touring destination for groups.  We begin the day with a guided tour through the city's four quarters that will allow you to take in many of the highlights that the city has to offer.  These include City Hall, Queens University, the Opera House and the Botanic Gardens.  You will be dropped in the city centre and this afternoon you will have free time to have a look around at your own pace, perhaps have a closer look at some of the attractions you saw during your tour this morning.

Wednesday - Day 4

This morning, we visit the extraordinary Giant’s Causeway, the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in Northern Ireland.  For centuries the Giant’s Causeway has inspired artists, stirred scientific debate and captured the imagination of all who see it.  The mystery and stories of the landscape are explained in the award winning Visitor Centre.  In the afternoon, we travel along the spectacular Antrim coastal route, voted one of the top 5 scenic coastal roads in the world, to Glenarm, the oldest village in Ireland. We enjoy free time here in an amazing setting by the coast.

Thursday - Day 5

We have a guided tour of Hillsborough Castle - the Queen's official residence in Northern Ireland.  Morning tea will be served in one of the staterooms before you have the chance to explore Hillsborough town itself with its Georgian architecture and visitor centre with an original courtroom exhibit.  Then, we take a tour of the Ards Peninsula Embraced by the pristine waters of Strangford Lough to the West, and a score of sandy seashores to the East, the Ards Peninsula is an area of outstanding natural beauty with an array of unique destinations  waiting for you to visit and explore.

Friday - Day 6

It is time to bid Northern Ireland fairwell as after a leisurely breakfast we travel the short distance back to the ferry terminal in Belfast for the late morning crossing back to Cairnryan.  The crossing is 2 hours 15 minutes, and upon arrival back in Scotland we will make our way back through to Dumfries The Holiday Inn for a final overnight stop.  If time allows we will make a stop at the Gretna visitor centre, if not this visit will be included on the Saturday morning.

Saturday - Day 7

After a leisurely breakfast we re-join the coach and head back across the border into England.  Via the motorways we head south making suitable comfort and refreshment stops en-route at service stations, as we aim to arrive back in Somerset early evening.  You will then transfer onto your feeder coach to conclude your journey back home.

About Our Tours

We have been operating tours and mini breaks around the U.K. and abroad for a number of years, and by far the most popular innovation that we have introduced in recent years, is to offer a virtually door to door service. Picking up as near as practically possible to your home in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire means you don’t have to worry about getting your luggage to the coach, and avoids the additional cost of having to use taxis.

By using our small fleet of mini-buses, we are able to keep the pick-up time to a minimum and get you on your tour coach and on your way as soon as possible. This way your holiday starts on the first morning. Once your holiday is over we will collect you again from the coach park and return you home.
