Monday - Day 1

Collecting you from your doorstep, we make our way South West to our home resort of Torquay and 4 nights at the TLH Derwent. Our first visit today is to the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary. Set along the historic Jurassic Coast and nestled in the tranquil East Devon countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the sanctuary is home to donkeys, mules and hinnies. Come and say hello to some of the hundreds of donkeys waiting to meet you. Explore the exciting new Visitor Centre, Understanding Donkeys Zone and Dr Svendsen’s Hut, and discover just why donkeys are so special. After lunch at the spectacular new restaurant with amazing views, we continue to the hotel.

Tuesday - Day 2

After breakfast today, we make our way by coach for a day at leisure in Plymouth. We take an excursion to Plymouth - Britain’s Ocean City and one of Europe’s most vibrant waterfront cities. Located by a stunning waterfront and harbour, Plymouth is the perfect place to visit. With dazzling views, rich history and world class events you’ll want to come back again and again. The Barbican and Sutton Harbour is one of Plymouth’s most popular places to visit, with quaint cobbled streets, a picturesque harbour and a wealth of independent shops, galleries, bars, cafes and restaurants along the water’s edge creating a metropolitan feel.

Wednesday - Day 3

Three exciting excursions on today's agenda. Our first stop is Buckfast Abbey. Buckfast Abbey forms part of an active Benedictine monastery at Buckfast. The monastery's most successful product is Buckfast Tonic Wine, a fortified wine which the monks began making in the 1890s. After the Abbey it's time to make a return steam train journey on the South Devon Railway from Buckfastleigh to Totnes Riverside. Our final visit is to Dartmoor Otters & Buckfast Butterflies. Our keeper is on hand to explain all about the otters to visitors, some are here for breeding, some for retirement, some just for fun and some because they are unsuitable to be returned to the wild. You can enjoy and learn about tropical butterflies in the specially designed habitat of which you become part. You not only see the butterflies but feel the rainforest atmosphere that they enjoy as you see their amazing life cycle unfold.

Thursday - Day 4

A full day at leisure in our host resort of Torquay - a traditional yet thriving seaside town set on Devon's English Riviera coast. With its iconic palm trees, busy harbour, international marina, sandy beach and wonderful array of continental style cafes, restaurants and cocktail bars, the scene is set for the perfect Devon seaside holiday. Alternatively stay on site where a full daytime activity programme organised by the in house entertainment team as well as the chance to use the lesiure facilities which include 25m indoor Aztec Pool, luxury Aztec Spa, Games Arena and 10 pin bowling. Try and make time to see the Torre Abbey Museum, well worth a visit and within easy walking distance of the hotel.

Friday - Day 5

Time to return home. After breakfast we load the coach and begin the trip back but not before stopping off for a bit of retail therapy and the legendary Trago Mills. The Newton Abbot site is the largest of the four sites and covers over 100 acres of land. It has several independent businesses. A garden centre, the largest in the south west, was opened on the site in 2009, followed in 2010 by a new restaurant. After lunch we continue the journey back to Somerset, where we meet the feeder coaches ready to take you home
