Monday - Day 1

We depart the West Country and head to beautiful Cornwall for a 4 night stay. The first stop of our stay is Plymouth. Plymouth, which is the biggest city in Devon, is most well known for its harbour, known as Plymouth Sound. Most of the city's history is centred around the harbour's existence, and the nautical history that has come through its waters. Even today it is a major dockyard for the Royal navy. We spend a little time at leisure here, perhaps have a spot of lunch before we continue onto to The Esplanade Hotel in Newquay

Tuesday - Day 2

After breakfast, we depart for the fabulous Eden Project. Housed in a former clay mine with no soil or plants. The huge crater has been transformed into a beautiful global garden, which sets the stage for an extraordinary day out where you’ll rediscover the natural world as you've never experienced it before. Explore massive covered Biomes to trek though the world’s largest indoor rainforest and immerse yourself in the calm fragrance of the Mediterranean Biome. Enjoy extensive Outdoor Gardens, contemporary artworks, performance and storytelling. Discover places to rest, play and eat, and pick up inspiring ideas to take home on how to care for the planet that cares for you.

Wednesday - Day 3

Our visit today is to Truro, the administrative capital of Cornwall. Its population is just over 20,000, which makes it seem like the settlement should be classed as a town. In fact, it was officially given city status by Queen Victoria, in the 1870s. This makes it the only city in the county, and the furthest south of any city on the island of Great Britain. No visit to Truro is complete with having seen the magnificent Gothic-Revival cathedral.

Thursday - Day 4

We spend the day at leisure in our host resort of Newquay. Newquay is famous for it's surfing especially at Fistral beach which can be seen from our hotel. I'm sure you'll be grateful that the weather is a bit chilly to learn to surf! At times, the county of Cornwall has a reputation for being a quiet, restful place, with nothing much really going on. Newquay, however is a busy town on the northern coast and is the direct opposite of that stereotype. It's a youthful, energetic place where boredom is practically illegal.

Friday - Day 5

Sadly, this morning we must pack our bags and start our journey home. We will make a stop at Trago Mills in Newton Abbot for some last-minute shopping and a bite to eat. After your rest stop, we will re-commence our journey home.
