Elegant Eastbourne

Often referred to as the sunniest place in Great Britain and nestle at the foot of the South Downs, Eastbourne has been attracting holiday maker since Victorian times.  With its colourful promenades, sandy beaches, quaint shopping streets, it’s not hard to see why.

Sunday – Day 1

We visit the City of Chichester for the first stop of our tour.  Blending old and new Chichester offers an enticing mix of designer boutiques and charming architecture including the stunning 900 year old Cathedral.  We then continue east to the Hadleigh Hotel in in Eastbourne, our base for 4 nights.

Monday - Day 2

This morning, we visit historic Battle Abbey where we enjoy an audio guided tour of the Abbey ruins, stand on the very spot where the armies of King Harold and William the Conqueror clashed at the Battle of Hastings and discover the Victorian walled garden, visitor centre and Abbey Gatehouse. We spend the afternoon at Pashley Manor Gardens.  Delight in the sweeping herbaceous borders, elegant rose and historic walled gardens, the productive kitchen garden, enchanting woodland paths and tranquil vistas that form this award winning garden.

Tuesday - Day 3

Part of the reason for coming to Eastbourne has to be to enjoy being beside the seaside.  Today is a day to do just that as we enjoy a full day at leisure in our host resort.  Enjoy a gentle stroll along the flat promenade; enjoy the famous carpet gardens harbour and 1930’s bandstand.

Wednesday - Day 4

This morning, we enjoy a tutored tour, tasting and lunch at the Carr Taylor Vineyard, set in the beautiful east Sussex countryside, after which we spend the afternoon in Hastings historic Old Town.  Hastings is a pleasant town with plenty to see and do including The Blue Reef Aquarium, St Mary in the Castle or the Old Town Ghost Walk.

Thursday - Day 5
Time to start our journey home, though there is still time for us to visit the nearby vibrant and colourful regency resort of Brighton.  Here you will have the chance to experience the heritage of the Royal Pavilion, take a walk along the prom, a visit to the quirky antiques shops and boutiques of ‘The Lanes’ or take a ride of Volks Railway, Britain’s oldest electric railway.  We then make our early afternoon departure for home.

Hotel Information

We stay at The Hadleigh Hotel in Eastbourne, centrally located and just 60 yards level walk from the seafront and only minutes from the bandstand, theatres carpet gardens and shops.  The hotel has a lift to all floors whilst each attractively furnished bedroom has en-suite facilities, tea/coffee making facilities, hospitality tray, colour television and central heating.

About Our Tours

We have been operating tours and mini breaks around the U.K. and abroad for a number of years, and by far the most popular innovation that we have introduced in recent years, is to offer a virtually door to door service. Picking up as near as practically possible to your home in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire means you don’t have to worry about getting your luggage to the coach, and avoids the additional cost of having to use taxis.

By using our small fleet of mini-buses, we are able to keep the pick-up time to a minimum and get you on your tour coach and on your way as soon as possible. This way your holiday starts on the first morning. Once your holiday is over we will collect you again from the coach park and return you home.
