RHS Flower Show Chatsworth

In 2017 the RHS introduced a brand new flower show venue in the stunning grounds of Chatsworth House Estate. Launched with new themes and styles, unlike the existing RHS shows.   We include a visit to the show as well as the chance to explore the Peak District is possibly one of our most underrated National Parks, and as well as its beauty has a fascinating history.

Monday – Day 1

We leave the West Country and journey north, making our lunch stop in Lichfield.  Nestled in the heart of the country’s most creative county – Staffordshire - just to the north of Birmingham, Lichfield is a city that’s steeped in heritage and well worth a visit.  We then continue on to the Eastwood Hall Hotel for a 4 night stay.

Day 2

We meet up with our tour guide at the hotel and embark on a tour of the Peak District.  The magnificent scenery of the Southern Pennines led this to be the country’s first, and still the busiest, National Park. With hundreds of square miles of spectacular, unspoiled moorland, hills and lush valleys, along with numerous historic houses, the Peak District has something to offer everyone.

Day 3

This morning we make our way south to Matlock Bath where you may like to take a cable car ride to the Heights Of Abraham, and (weather permitting) absorb breath taking views of the village. At the summit there are two underground show caves, a café and gift shop. Other attractions include the mining museum, an aquarium as well as souvenir shops and cafes to enjoy lunch. We later travel on to Chesterfield, where town meets the countryside, and the Peak District meets Robin Hood Country. As well as browsing the shops, you may like to visit the Parish church with the its 228ft crooked spire which leans nearly 9ft from its true centre and moves a little further every year… but it is still a long way from falling over!

Day 4

We make our way to Chatsworth House Estate for the newly launched RHS Flower Show. Set in the beautiful surrounding of the estate’s parkland, the flower show will look at contemporary designs, local skills and crafts from the countryside, garden sculptures together with the usual abundance of flower designs, displays and demonstrations, all linked across the spectacular grounds with bridges across the River Derwent. The usual “floral marquee” will be within a recreated conservatory showcasing plants from around the world. Food and refreshments will be available throughout the show, together with gift shops and plant nurseries.

Day 5

Sadly we leave our hotel and begin our homeward journey, with comfort and lunch stop on route, completing our journey, arriving back in the West Country early evening.

About Our Tours

We have been operating tours and mini breaks around the U.K. and abroad for a number of years, and by far the most popular innovation that we have introduced in recent years, is to offer a virtually door to door service. Picking up as near as practically possible to your home in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire means you don’t have to worry about getting your luggage to the coach, and avoids the additional cost of having to use taxis.

By using our small fleet of mini-buses, we are able to keep the pick-up time to a minimum and get you on your tour coach and on your way as soon as possible. This way your holiday starts on the first morning. Once your holiday is over we will collect you again from the coach park and return you home.
