The East Riding of Yorkshire & North Lincs

Yorkshire's East Riding is often referred to as one of England's hidden tourist gems. 2017 certainly put Hull and the Easy Yorkshire region on the map as Hull became the UK City of Culture. We discover Beverley, see the snowdrops as Burton Agnes Hall and journey across one of the world's longest single-span suspension bridges; The Grade I listed Humber Bridge and then onto Lincoln. We stay at the four-star Hallmark Hotel, Hull, shortlisted for remarkable hotel of the year at the East Yorkshire tourism awards in March 2019 for its view of the Humber Bridge.

Thursday – Day 1

Your home pick up will take you to meet the main tour coach where we all join up together before heading to the motorways to commence our journey north. We will make suitable comfort stops along the way as we head to the Hallmark Hotel in Hull our base for 4 nights. This 4-star hotel has dramatic views over the iconic Humber Bridge, and is located on the outskirts of Hull City Centre. Upon arrival you will have the chance for a cup of tea or coffee as well as some tasty cake before having some time to freshen up before your evening meal.

Friday – Day 2

We cross the impressive Humber Bridge which in 2017 was given Grade I listed status by Historic England making it the longest listed structure in the UK. The bridge crosses the Humber Estuary from where we continue to the historic city of Lincoln with its magnificent cathedral and Norman castle. We have a short guided tour of the city by coach before a tour of the Cathedral. The remainder of the day is then for you to explore the city at your leisure – the old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways with interesting shops and lovely tearooms.

Saturday – Day 3

One of Yorkshire's best kept secrets is Beverley - renowned for its exquisite 13th Century Minster, the town is home to a lively Saturday market, thriving music scene and a medieval skyline that remains refreshingly unspoilt. It's then onto Burton Agnes Hall, where every February millions of hardy snowdrops push through the cold winter ground creating a magnificent ‘white carpet’ across the woodland floor. The snowdrop walk makes a truly memorable day out - the beautiful little flowers are such a welcome sight, and grow in numbers each year.

Sunday – Day 4

We visit Hull - UK City of Culture in 2017 - and explore its historic old town heart and cultural venues. All of the city’s museums and galleries are free to enter so spend some time in the Ferens gallery or immerse yourself in Hull’s maritime history at the Maritime Museum. There are many restaurants and cafes in Hull for lunch to be purchased. Take a stroll along the Marina before we head to ‘The Deep’ – a spectacular aquarium which boasts a whopping 3,500 fish including a pair of Green Sawfish, sharks, rays and a colony of Gentoo penguins.

Monday – Day 5

After breakfast it is time for us to leave East Yorkshire behind as we load up the coach and via the motorways we commence our journey to the south west and home. We will make suitable comfort stops during the journey at varying services stations as we head back to our coach meeting point where we will join up early evening with the feeder coaches who will continue your journey back home.

About Our Tours

We have been operating tours and mini breaks around the U.K. and abroad for a number of years, and by far the most popular innovation that we have introduced in recent years, is to offer a virtually door to door service. Picking up as near as practically possible to your home in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire means you don’t have to worry about getting your luggage to the coach, and avoids the additional cost of having to use taxis.

By using our small fleet of mini-buses, we are able to keep the pick-up time to a minimum and get you on your tour coach and on your way as soon as possible. This way your holiday starts on the first morning. Once your holiday is over we will collect you again from the coach park and return you home.
