The New Forest & Bournemouth

The New Forest is a much loved location in Southern England, and is also Britain's newest National Park. Here you will find wild ponies, grazing cattle and sheep wander across the roads between the many picturesque villages! Our hotel is in the Dorset town of Bournemouth and is a popular seaside resort that boasts a seven-mile swathe of Blue Flag beaches dotted with quintessentially English beach huts, a traditional pleasure pier and plenty of ice-cream kiosks alongside beautiful gardens - and ideal location for a late winter / early spring break.

Monday - Day 1

Your home pick up will take you to the coach meeting point where we board our tour coach and head to the south coast. Our first stop is the East Dorset town Poole, a town which boasts the second largest harbour in the world. Perhaps take a visit to the shopping centre, to the old town or to the scenic harbour itself. We then continue to The Riviera Hotel in Bournemouth, for a four-night stay. At the hotel you have full use of it's leisure facilites, whilst for certain hours there is also a 99p bar for certain beers, wines and house spirits.

Tuesday - Day 2

Sand, sea and one of the sunniest spots (hopefully!!) in England we spend a full day at leisure in Bournemouth. Boasting a seven-mile swathe of Blue Flag beaches dotted with quintessentially English beach huts, a traditional pleasure pier and plenty of ice-cream kiosks. Rattle up the cliffs in the funicular lift for views to the Isle of Wight and encounters with local kestrels and green lizards or admire the blooms in the chine gardens below. Take in beautiful parks and gardens, as well as a vast array of shops, restaurants, cafes and bistros.

Wednesday – Day 3

This morning we travel through the New Forest making the first stop of the day at the forest's ‘capital’ Lyndhurst. Towering over the skyline is the pre-Raphaelite church of St Michael and All Angels where the grave of former Lyndhurst resident Alice Liddel, Lewis Carroll’s inspiration for Alice in Wonderland, can be found. We then head to Beaulieu, with a stately home, a world famous motor museum, and a 13th century Abbey surrounded by picturesque gardens and grounds there are over 800 years of heritage to be seen at this well established venue.

Thursday – Day 4

We travel along the southern edge of the New Forest to the pretty Georgian market town of Lymington, an ancient seaport where the High Street has lots of unusual shops and restaurants of which many are housed within 18th century buildings. We re-join the coach and journey through the New Forest which is famous for its unspoilt woods and marshlands to Exbury Gardens. Designed by Lionel de Rothschild, whose inspiration has created one of the finest woodland gardens in Britain. The Daffodil Meadow offers a spectacular views of the Beaulieu River.

Friday - Day 5

We start our journey home, though there are still two visits today. First it is to the historic market town of Wimborne Minster, with its gracious Minster Church, heritage and family attractions and picturesque location on the banks of the rivers Stour and Allen. Then to the National Trust property of Kingston Lacy, where as the weather warms up the garden springs into life. Enjoy an abundance of colour with the emergence of over 20,000 bulbs at this special time of year. See the daffodils in Lime Avenue, whilst 8000 crocuses will have been planted in the Kitchen Garden Orchard.

About Our Tours

We have been operating tours and mini breaks around the U.K. and abroad for a number of years, and by far the most popular innovation that we have introduced in recent years, is to offer a virtually door to door service. Picking up as near as practically possible to your home in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire means you don’t have to worry about getting your luggage to the coach, and avoids the additional cost of having to use taxis.

By using our small fleet of mini-buses, we are able to keep the pick-up time to a minimum and get you on your tour coach and on your way as soon as possible. This way your holiday starts on the first morning. Once your holiday is over we will collect you again from the coach park and return you home.
